Sub-Zero Repair around Lake Tapps

1. 01 Sub-Zero built an outdoor version of its UC-15I, the UC-15I(P)O. Its installation guide requires a GFCI when it is installed outdoors and advises against one on the indoor model.
2. 02 Sub-Zero's troubleshooting for its undercounter ice maker warns that room heat and direct sun melt stored ice quickly, because the bin is not refrigerated. On a sunny deck, a low bin may be melt rather than a fault.
3. 03 A Sub-Zero has no shut-off valve inside it; the plumber fits one on its water line. A house with a second kitchen or a bar therefore has two valves to find.

On your side of the Shut-Off Line

1. 01 Reset a tripped GFCI outlet or breaker once if an outdoor machine has gone dark; if it trips again, stop there.
2. 02 Shade an outdoor machine from strong afternoon sun, then see whether the bin holds its ice; the bin has no cooling of its own.
3. 03 Find the valve on every line that feeds an ice maker, including a second kitchen or a bar, because a Sub-Zero has no shut-off inside it.
4. 04 Read the utility name on your bill rather than going by the lake: the shoreline is split between the county and Bonney Lake.
