Why Are the Cubes Sticking Together?
The short answer
Ice left unused for a few days fuses as the freezer runs its defrost cycles, which Sub-Zero calls normal, so the cure is mostly using or emptying it more often.
Check in this order
- Check the freezer is set at 0°F and not above 5°F.
- Tip out a bin that has sat untouched and let the ice maker refill it loose.
- Leave the ice maker on between uses, as Sub-Zero advises.
- Empty, rinse and dry the bin once or twice a month.
- Seat the bin level on its rails, and check the door seal for tears.

Behind the answer
A lump in the bin is the fusing Sub-Zero expects. Ice building up in the ice maker itself is different: water is arriving where it should not, and Sub-Zero points at a jammed cube, a valve, a wrong fill setting or low water pressure.
